You never know what people are struggling with or what they are going through. Often, if you knew a person’s story you would have less judgement and more patience. Isn’t that interesting? In most cases we need to know what is going on in someone’s life in order to be more compassionate towards them.
Why do you think that is? What if we just behaved like we all had something going on? What if we allowed others, and ourselves to make a mistake? What if we said hello, how are you, and I’m sorry, just a little more often?
A therapist has shared that a kind gesture can go a long way. Forgiving someone for something that they wouldn’t normally do, and offer some understanding can be greatly impactful for that person. It can make a huge difference. Being kind to a stranger can change the outlook on a person’s day.
It doesn’t take much!
Small gestures can go a long way! Holding the door open. Buying a coffee for a stranger (I love the drive thru pay it forward trains that happen sometimes). Letting someone ahead of you in line who only has a few things and will be quicker than you. These are all tiny things that can make a person’s day!
Let’s be kind! Check in with one another! You never know when you will make someone’s day, so try something small!
