Several illegal migrants from the DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo) in Africa, the country which is presently facing a huge Ebola outbreak, have been dumped in San Antonio and hundred more would be arriving in the coming days.
Jaleesa Irlzarry, a local reporter put up a tweet on Thursday requesting about the desperate need for French speaking volunteers for communicating with the individual arriving from the Congo.
Dr. Collen Bridger, Interim Assistant City Manager said in a report that the illegal migrants began arriving in the town on Tuesday, with another 200-300 from Angola and Congo to arrive in San Antonio in near future.
As per a notice put up by the Human Services Department of San Antonio, around 350 illegal migrants from the Congo would be arriving in San Antonio in coming days.
After arriving in San Antonio, the illegal immigrants are then bussed to another destination that they have chosen via local charities that spend the sum of nearly $14,000 per week on their bus tickets.
Two days ago, the WHO said that one of four Ebola virus infections in the Congo are still going undetected. The country is facing the 2nd worst Ebola outbreak on record, the agency added.
