OptumCare, a key health services firm, has successfully acquired DaVita Medical Group, a leading independent medical group in the US, from DaVita. As a part of the acquisition, HealthCare Partners Nevada would be merged with Intermountain Healthcare.
DaVita Medical Group is now a part of OptumCare, a firm which is known for serving over 80 health plans, and would offer quality healthcare to nearly 16mn patients.
Andrew Witty, CEO, Optum said that the firm is extremely happy about taking such a significant step in developing next-gen detailed, coordinated healthcare organization. The combination would help enhance the health as well as experiences of the patients while reducing costs of continuing care, Witty added.
Upon joining OptumCare, DaVita Medical Group starts a new exciting chapter, aiding the physicians to further improve patient care, DaVita’s Executive Chairman, Kent Thiry said.
DaVita would continue focusing on offering a quality life to the patients as well as growing its access to combined care in the kidney-care zone, DaVita’s CEO, Javier Rodriguez said.
Notably, DaVita will still own as well as operate its United States as well as international kidney-care establishments. The firm is the largest kidney-care services provider in the United States and has stayed on a top position when it comes to clinical quality as well as innovation since the past 20 years.
