The latest UNICEF global report shows that close to 200 million kids that are less than 5-years-old tend to be malnourished. According to experts, this might be putting humanity’s future at risk. With world’s 700 Million population comprised of children, more than a third tend to suffer from issues of malnourishment that comes as both obesity and undernourishment.
Today, the children that belong to the poor & middle-income nations are plagued with health issues that had existed only in the poorest & richest countries. Half of these kids are ailed from an issue termed by UNICEF as “Hidden Hunger”. This is a condition in which the children do not acquire proper amount of minerals, vitamins, and other critical nutrients.
Additionally, 50 Million kids suffer from a form of debilitating thinness which is described as wasting due to the poverty issue. Apart from this, 149 Million kids below 4-years of age tend to experience a stunted form of growth. They are comparatively short with regards to the national average. According to this report, close to 45 percent children aged between 6 months & 2 years do not get access to vegetables or fruits on a regular basis.
