Authorities of Florida released a statement saying that a man of 26 years of age hasn’t been able to tell three women about him being HIV positive. On Thursday, Gentry Burns from Orlando Beach, Florida was accused of violating the disclosure laws of HIV positive.
A spokesperson for the Sheriff Office of Volusia County, Andrew Gant said to the media that from all the records that were subpoenaed, the detectives found that Burns was diagnosed with HIV since January of 2014.
Three victims were identified by the detectives, who cooperated well with the investigation procedure and gave confirmation about dating and engaging in physical activity with Gentry Burns without even having the slightest hint about him being HIV positive, said Gant.
The spokesperson for the Sheriff’s office also added that the detectives started to investigate after a woman came forward about having diagnosed with HIV positive after she had dated Burns in the year 2013. He also said that the victim was looking for reaching out to women who were dating Burns to warn them about his situation.
She also has provided some of the names of women who she believes might have been infected by HIV because of Burns.
