Apple Cider Vinegar for Acne

Apple cider vinegar comes with significant healing properties due to ingredients like acetic acid, potassium, magnesium, probiotics and enzymes. Acetic acid has anti-bacterial properties which help kill existing bacteria and controls growth of them. Thus, it helps in healthier skin and digestion, and help improves the immunity of our body. Apple cider vinegar has glycol in highest content when compared to all organic forms which enhance the healing effect of your skin and body.

Apple cider vinegar has both anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties which kill the bacteria causing acne, it with its antioxidant properties also reduces the harmful effect of free radicals thus causing your skin to look younger and healthier. It acts an excellent exfoliant for your skin and restores the pH balance of your skin. It has got anti-inflammatory properties which reduce redness, swelling, and pain caused due to acne. It has got astringent which dries up the pimples and creates a protective layer on your skin to breathe properly and stay healthy.


This can be taken both orally and applied externally to cure various forms of acne. Use some apple cider vinegar in original or diluted form to the acne, and it causes it to dry up and reduces its chances to grow again. It can be diluted by adding one part of vinegar with two parts of water in case your skin is naturally dry.

When mixed with baking soda it acts as an exfoliant to clean up all clogging caused on the skin. It can be combined with honey to have bleaching effect of honey to reduce the acne scars while vinegar treats the acne on your skin. It can also be mixed with garlic which again has antibacterial property and helps reduce p-bacteria.

Like baking soda, we can also mix salt with apple cider vinegar to exfoliate the skin properly. All the above treatments leave skin dry, so it’s always recommended to wash the surface with some lukewarm water and pat dry and apply some good moisturizer to retain the moisture of the skin. The drying effect of apple cider vinegar can be countered by mixing it with some Aloe Vera Gel to treat acne.

Add a few drops of lemon with apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil to have the overall effect to cure the acne. Apple cider vinegar has acetic acid which helps restores the pH balance of your skin while cleaning the pores and heal acne. Apple cider vinegar can also be consumed orally with honey and water.

Apply it as a face mask by mixing it with a mashed ripe banana. Leave the mask for five minutes on the affected area and then rinse it off with warm water. Repeat it at least twice a day until acne cured completely.

You can make a spray by mixing equal parts of apple cider vinegar with rose water and few drops of lemon juice and spray it over scar at least three to four time a day to keep they oil free and bacteria free. This will help you check the growth of further acne in the affected area. The p-bacteria occurs on the skin naturally and reacts with your naturally facial oil give rise to further bacteria which makes the condition worse. This kind of spray can keep this severe situation in control. But always remember to wash your face or affected the area with water within five minutes of application of the spray.

We should always use raw apple cider vinegar for any skin application or consumption. It should always be diluted before use or else may cause irritation on inner lines of stomach and skin. Always a patch test is recommended before applying apple cider vinegar to your body for the first time. Just apply some on your wrist and see if any redness or irritation occur in next twenty-four hours. If nothing happens, then it’s safe to use it on your skin.

Never should be used on open scars or near to eyes or else it may cause irritation and rapid itching. Never leave it on your skin for more than five minutes, rinse it immediately with some warm water.
